Bale is located in the South Western part of Istria, Bale is located 15km South East of Rovinj and 20km North of Pula and the International airport  Bale is 8km from the sea . The relaxing village of Bale and its elevated village  is brimming with romantic regional  architecture making Bale one of the most attractive localities in Istria. Bale is situated 140 metres above sea level. Bale is renowned as a quiet place offering its visitors rest from the crowd and rush of big cities, such as Porec, Pula, and Rovinj. Bale has maintained its medieval urban structure  and there are remains of fortifications, towers and gates. The main occupation of approximately 1,000 inhabitants of Bale is farming, wine,  olives and wheat. 

Bale is also famous for its coastline on which there have been found fossils of several types of dinosaur's  there is also an ornithological reserve with more than 200 species of bird. The village has several shops, restaurants offering traditional cuisine, bars ,churches and a post office.

A few km from Bale is the village of Golas. The village has a clear and open view of the horizon and the 45th parallel crosses it. Golas is exactly halfway between the equator and the North Pole.
